The Portage Lakes Purple Martin Association is an organization dedicated to helping the Purple Martins feed, breed, and interact with the environment to the best of their bird ability.
We have a number of activities and lectures through the year. We welcome you to join us help us educate the public about the Purple Martins. Help us teach how these birds contribute to the Portage Lakes ecology through school education days, Martinfest, Adopt-a-Nest and Twilight Boat Rides.

Our Twilight Boat Rides highlight the abundant species of wildlife found living around Nimisila Reservoir. You will see eagles, osprey, kingfishers, and of course purple martins. Right as the sun sets, you will get to see the breath taking show they put on before settling into the reeds.
