Come feed purple martins at our State Mill Boat Launch area site and learn about their role around Portage Lakes. This will be followed by an all levels yoga class lakeside with the melodies of the birds to accompany us. Bring your own mat, or mats provided for those who don’t have one. Rain date June 20th.

Dedicated to Conservation, Awareness and Education
The Portage Lakes Purple Martin Association is an organization dedicated to the survival of the Purple Martin species. Our conservation efforts are to give the birds the ideal environment for nesting and raising their babies.
We have a number of educational activities and events through the year. We welcome you to join us raising awareness about the Purple Martins in Portage Lakes and how they contribute to our ecology. Our School Education Day, Martinfest, Adopt-a-Nest and Twilight Boat Rides are just some fun ways you can learn about the birds or even volunteer your help with. Check our calendar of events below for dates and more information.
We’re happy to have these aerial acrobats in Portage Lakes, Ohio and do our best to make them feel welcome. Our sanctuaries are an important part of our ecological habitat. We appreciate your donations to help in the upkeep and maintenance of our several sites around the Portage Lakes!
